- A couple of months ago, I’d decided to re-install Instagram. With it came anxiety, restlessness, racing thoughts, inability to focus. Deleted Instagram last week - finished a book and 2 crochet projects. That app is poison, folks.
- There’s a wedding at home and my mom has invited the newspaper man, the grocery store folks, the istri couple - all of whom she’s known for 20 years. She’s also their family doctor. I can only wish to build that kind of community in my lifetime 🥹
- Why is everyone freaking out about low birth rates? It’s the gentlest way for our species to let ourselves out of the earth. We had a good run but maybe our time is up.A fertility rate below 1.6 means 50% less new people after three generations, say 100 years. Below 1.2 means an 80% drop. The U.S. is at 1.64. China, Japan, Poland, Spain all below 1.2. South Korea is at 0.7—96% drop. Mass extinction numbers.

- Slowly but surely, LinkedIn is now in that uncanny valley where chatgpt is commenting on posts written by chatgpt. A beautiful cacophony of grammatically perfect, completely braindead takes.
- It’s almost unfair how well located Mysore is. Want city life? Bangalore is 3 hours away. Hills and Forests? Kabini, Bandipur, Coorg, Wayanad are 3 hours away. Mountains? Ooty is 3 hours away. Heck even beaches of Mangalore/Udupi are 6 hours away. Insane.

- 18 mos ago a (now) unicorn founder rejected me for a PM role because I’d never built something used by more than 10k users (they ended the interview there). Today an App I launched as a PM hit 1 Million users (in a niche category!). Allow me to show off a bit 😌
- Visited Salem couple of months ago and in Lucknow now. Comparing cleanliness, proportion of women out and about, overall prosperity… it’s hard to believe they’re both in the same country.
- My mom's vantage point as a doctor with mostly lower middle class/underprivileged patients offers a stark picture. A lot of women with symptoms are refusing to get tested because if they test +ve, they have to isolate. If they isolate, nobody can run the home.
