    Looks like we're going to have some new folks around here. Here's what you can expect: 1) general disapproval of modernity 2) endearing vignettes of bickering w/ my 17yo son about Napoleon 3) love of Appalachia 4) deeply protective of working class 5) probably too ecumenical

    Bedford suffered the greatest proportion of losses of any town in the US that day. Everyone knew someone. Everyone lost someone. A little, quiet town in rural VA decimated by the events on a faraway continent & the actions of evil men.

    Bedford (pop. 3200) was home to a National Guard unit serving in Company A in 1st Battalion in 116th Infantry Regiment of 29th Infantry Division. Of the 35 soldiers from Bedford, 19 were killed on Omaha Beach. Another 4 “Bedford Boys” would die before the end of the campaign

    Called my congressman's office. Calmly told the aide that I was a Christian mom who was a pastor's wife. Then told him that I believed that President Trump should be removed. He asked me to repeat myself to clarify.

    In the SBC, women are "permenantly disqualified" from holding the pastorate so I am really very okay with sexual predators being banned from ever holding the pastorate again regardless of repentance.

    So I think I finally figured out why the Babylon Bee is so funny to some people & completely unfunny to others. More often than not, the BB isn't satire; it's sarcasm.

    Regular reminder that becoming a man is about growing out of boyhood, not rejecting womanhood. (Which might explain why folks who frame manhood as "not being women" often act in such childish ways.)
