imo Caitlyn even realized this during her conversation with Jinx, when Jinx said it wouldn’t have mattered if she knew Caitlyn’s mom was on the council. Caitlyn had the privilege of assuming it was personal because she couldn’t understand being a victim of an entire system

cait ended the show still not meeting vi at the level she was at, still not understanding what it’s like to be from zaun. there were no scenes where she actually genuinely went through something that reflected vi’s upbringing and understood her on that level.
