Y'all. Judge Dinkins of the Tennessee Court of Appeals swore in my law school colleague with her baby on his hip, and I've honestly never loved him more.

Margaret Brennan telling an overconfident and mediocre white man “thank you for explaining that to me” is all of us.

This is Bob. Bob is complicit in acts of oppression. This is Sally. Sally cares about other people. But Sally doesn’t understand that she and Bob have incompatible values, and she isn’t willing to acknowledge that reality or stand up to Bob. Don’t be like Bob and Sally.

PS Juliana is a badass. She was back at school within a week of an emergency c-section before she was even allowed to drive or climb stairs. Her judicial clerkship will be up August 2021--she'll be looking to practice sports/entertainment or corporate law.

While there are plenty of exceptions to HIPAA, @VUMChealth absolutely did NOT have to immediately cave to the State’s request. It could’ve insisted on a court-issued subpoena, moved to quash it, and then made the state prove to the court that it is entitled to the records.
🏳️‍⚧️ INBOX: We’re being told Vanderbilt @VUMChealth has sent emails👇🏽that they “regret” to inform people they’re being required to release records of any trans person on a state-sponsored insurance plan to the attorney general @AGTennessee “in response to a civil investigation”

I’m the wife of an active duty service member who has deployed to Iraq and risked his life for this country. There is nothing disrespectful about Jones declining to lead the pledge, and my family supports his First Amendment right not to be compelled to do so.
This is what woke indoctrination in our schools & colleges looks like. The ignorance & utter disrespect for the sacrifices of the men & women who have served, & continue to serve, in defense of the 🇺🇸 & the nation it represents sums up everything this grifter doesn’t stand for.

He taught me my most important legal writing lesson: Write as though the reader knows nothing about your argument, and make sure by the end, the reader has no questions.

Sure. My colleague's name is Juliana Lamar, and she wants to make sure credit is given where due--that she couldn't have gotten this far without the support of her husband Javon, as well as the love of her son and mom.

First grade. She let me skip naps and read and fostered my desire to learn. When I came back years later to tell her I was going to college for interior design, she peered at me over her glasses and demanded to know why I didn’t want to be a lawyer. Anyway, I’m a lawyer now.
