We’re migrating ✈️
We’re taking our sightings over to Bluesky, where you’ll be able to find all the latest daily sightings and updates from our wonderful reserve team.
Head over there to join the flock:
Our Reserve manager Dave has been awarded a BEM for services to Wildlife Conservation, join us in congratulating him on all he’s done at WWT and beyond for wetland flora and fauna 🦆🪿
Only 12 Bewick's Swans back at the Rushy by 4.30pm. The rest are reluctant to come in, they're still out in the fields, the sky is blue, the route ahead is clear and a warm light 5mph westerly is breezing across Gloucestershire. Perfect if they choose to set off after dusk.
Kingfisher Hide - Bottom new piece field 1 adult Crane with no rings calling and feeding, large flocks of Canada and Greylag geese on the bottom new piece field. On the water 5 Gadwall, 6 Teal, 2 Little Grebe. On the field to the left of the hide 11 Snipe #GlosBirds
The reserve team say goodbye to a close colleague and a much loved friend today. We shall miss working on wetland waterbird projects and birding with Rich, a regular visitor to the hides and trails. Such a great champion for wetland wildlife. wwt.org.uk/news-and-stori…
