I wasn’t prepared for my name being read out by Amitabh Bachchan on KBC. Happened last Friday. Hopefully, ‘The Great Smog of India’ moves from being relevant every winter to being a forgotten historical account in the coming years.

Meanwhile here’s Sri Lanka’s Olympics outfit. Luckily they didn’t have Tarun Tahiliani designing them.
This is the best that Tarun Tahiliani could come up with? We are so used to our athletes looking so smart, normally. This feels like he phoned in the design….

Had the roof coated with this cool roof paint. With just one coat (of the recommended two coats), there’s a perceptible reduction of temperature by 5-10 degrees in the rooms below. We were able to sit in there for the first time at 3pm (40° C) without the AC on.

I still can't believe this iconic pathway was disfigured like this. Walking through this narrow opening was a discomforting moment as you entered the garden. It helped you visualise and understand the nature of the tragedy. Now it looks like a Ramoji Rao Film City exhibit.

When Aaron Swartz downloaded millions of academic articles, aiming to make them freely available, he was arrested and hounded. It ultimately led to his death. If he had instead just copied all that content and provided it for free via an AI chatbot, he would be a billionaire.
12 years. RIP my darling boy.

10 years ago today I posted a silly and nerdy tweet on how diamonds are just carbon allotropes and then said marry me — to no one in particular. A random stranger responded to that saying it depends on the size of the carbon allotrope. We’ve been married for five years now.

What? Roop Kanwar was drugged and forced by her family to perform sati in Sikar in 1987. It's the most well documented case of sati in your own lifetime. Some of the people who glorified this act were acquitted by the courts in October 2024. Literally 4 months ago.
“It’s hard to find any proof of Sati but very easy to find proof of witch burning in medieval Europe” Amazing podcast @authoramish!

Real sentence said by someone living in a neighbourhood where each house is worth at least ₹6-7 crore: “The woman who takes our garbage every day has now demanded ₹200 per month. We recently had a society meeting and decided we won’t increase it from the current ₹150.”
