Remember the protests against Sterlite Copper? It produced 33% of India's needs and 2% of the global production. NGO protests shut it down. The pretext was environmental concerns. Few NGOs are the deep state's trojan horses. Tree huggers miss this reality.

- Reflections from recent India travels: - Extreme poverty: negligible - Municipal Governance: bad - Highways: Lot of activity everywhere - Railways: Clean platforms and coaches, toilets still unhygienic - Heritage & spiritual tourism: grossly under tapped - Cuisine: Homogeneous
- Today is the birth anniversary of one of my favorite heroes - Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. A literary genius, a revolutionary, a poet - all in one. His books and poems fired the Indian freedom struggle. Here is Atal ji describing Savarkar in his own inimitable poetic style 🙏
00:00 - Museums in India are usually boring and a place for the 'dead'. But today I was blown away by the Tribal Museum in Bhopal. An immersive experience that has a deep impact. Live performances on the MP culture added to it. We can learn from this design and take to other states.
- Hope the trend continues. UPSC is the biggest drain of India's talent. There has to be a multi party consensus on reforming the selection process. Most importantly add a work experience criteria. Incentivizing a 4-6 year closed room prepartion is a tragedy. The number of UPSC aspirants per million: 1) Skyrocketed between 2004 & 2014 2) Plummeting since 2015-16 - though the number of positions have remained more or less constant in the last 50 years. - GoI brings equivalence between traditional education and central and state boards. This is a great move and allows students from gurukul education to pursue higher education and jobs. State apartheid against the traditional system is changing.
- India needs its own long holiday. 7-10 days. It allows everyone to go back home to their families and reconnect. Every country has one. Diwali is the best festival for it. We have instituted that at @RishihoodUni and everyone loves it.I pity children who can't celebrate Diwali. Schools are open even on Dhanteras which is actually the first of five day Deepwali celebrations. And the very next day of Bhai Dooj is again school. There is no celebratory spirit. Many schools purposefully keep exams on the first or
- “You see, no one can teach anybody. The teacher spoils everything by thinking that he is teaching. Thus Vedanta says that within man is all knowledge - even in a boy it is so - and it requires only an awakening, and that much is the work of a teacher.” - #SwamiVivekananda
- 10 excerpts from the 1st section on 'coloniality' from the book #IndiaThatIsBharat by @jsaideepak that I found worth sharing. Hope it interests you to go ahead and read it.
- Before->After. Resources (with hubris) mean nothing without leadership. The India story needs to be told globally. Doing well and saving the world as well. Let's shed the inferiority complex.
- India showed the world how to solve the Small Pox and Polio infections. WHO and the World is now looking up to India to show a way for #COVIDー19 The world is looking at India and India is looking at us. What we do in the next few weeks can change history #Covid19India
00:00 - Thank you @jsaideepak for delivering the welcome address to students at @rashtramspl. You rightly mentioned that our civilization is sandwiched between coloniality and the constitution. Decolonizing our State and institutions is the goal. And it begins with education. Here's the link to my interaction of last Saturday at @rashtramspl. My talk starts at 37.16. As part of the QnA, I also discuss the outline and structure of my book "India that is Bharat :Coloniality, Civilisation, Constitution" in some detail. youtu.be/vlts6PR6MNw
- While we whitewash the Somnath plunder from our history books. The truth needs to be told to every child, because the mindset of the invader has not changed and will not. By 'secularising' our history books, we are bringing up 'broiler babies', sterile and ready to be slaughteredToday, we visited the shrine of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, a renowned Muslim warrior & Mujahid of the 10th century. Ghaznavi (May the mercy of Allah be upon him) established a strong Muslim rule in the region from Ghazni & smashed the idol of Somnath.
