    36 seasons I’ve coached college basketball. I’ve never finished a season without crying... because I’ve never won it all. I keep coming back seeking that pie in the sky. Yes, this hurts for @IowaHoops, but I wouldn’t trade the ride for anything in the world.

    We fought the good fight. I’m so proud of this @IowaHoops squad. My heart aches for all of Hawkeye Nation. We wanted more, just like you. This ride ends for this year, but we’ll be back, stronger than ever.

    Every man in his life is going to lose a battle. He’s gonna fight and he’s gonna lose. But what makes him a man, is that in the midst of that battle he doesn’t lose himself. This is my message to @IowaHoops and to all who are open to positivity.

    Winning isn’t normal. It really isn’t. It take a lot to win at anything when you really think about it....So many variables that come into play. All wins feel good but this @IowaHoops win today ranks near the top of any win for me.
