Mark Carney, our 60 year old Canadian Prime Minister, casually and under the radar, took part in the marathon Haliburton Forest Trail Race yesterday in Ontario. Out of 120 runners in the 26-kilometre race, PM Carney finished 58th, with a time of just over 3 hours and 45 minutes.

🇨🇦 Canada will have a new Prime Minister one week from today, March 9. While I firmly believe @JustinTrudeau's replacement will be excellent, they've got big boots to fill when it comes to diplomatic leadership on the world stage. I will miss him.

🇨🇦 Elizabeth May is correct. A line has been crossed in Canadian politics. We need to address it & condemn it outright or risk sliding into the same mess as the USA. We must stand up, speak out and not accept the creeping normalization of hate by politicians in Canada. Be better.

PM Carney not commenting directly on Trump's negotiation tactic of claiming to drop all negotiations reinforces the statement @MarkJCarney made early on about not negotiating in public. One leader is interested in the show, the other in results. Canada is going to be fine. 🇨🇦💪
