zk-rollup is not zero knowledge. It only uses compression feature from zk for scaling. We should have a better name for it, eg. succinct rollup or validity rollup. Any better idea?

- almost 100k unique addresses have deposited 11k GoerliETH to our bridge
- On Monday, we will teach you how to write circuits in halo2 and introduce the hackathon project at zk-hacking.org/tracks/zk_circ… The task is to implement circuits for precompiled contracts. You will get a chance to contribute to the community-driven zkEVM and get guidance from us!Ever wanted to learn how to build ZK circuits but don't know where to start? Join Mason Liang, circuit engineer at @Scroll_ZKP, for a free online workshop introducing circuits with halo2-ce on March 20th! eventbrite.com/e/building-and…
- 1/ Despite that we are the main organizer who put together the logistics of this joint auditor education session, coordinated with speakers, and invited most of auditors, there is not even a mention from the Polygon team.#Polygon and the Ethereum Foundation recently got together for a series of dev-led discussions about Zero Knowledge, the EVM, and what we learned stress-testing Polygon zkEVM. For an overview of the discussion series, click 👇 polygon.technology/blog/polygon-p…
- On Jan 9, we upgraded and reset our Pre-Alpha Testnet with the new batching feature release and reliability improvement. In the first week, we've already received lots of traffic. As of today, the testnet - got 270k+ unique addresses - processed 110k+ txs daily on L2
- Glad to see the acknowledgment from Polygon. Further, we will continue working with the community to bring more education about zkEVM, Scroll, and general zk. Reach out to us if you would like to contribute!Replying to @0xPolygonTo be clear, our colleagues @Scroll_ZKP and @shenhaichen graciously participated and co-organized. It would not have been a robust discussion without them. To learn more about Polygon, the Ethereum Foundation, and Scroll’s contributions, read the blog post 👆
- The Euclid upgrade proposal just passed the voting. It means that in 2 weeks - @Scroll_ZKP will become the first stage-1 zk rollup - >2k TPS with sub-cent tx fee - upgrade to zkVM prover @openvm_org - support EIP-7702 and RIP-7212 - migration to MPT for more compatibility
- In fact, there are already many L2s that have separate fee structures for execution fee and data fee, including Scroll and OP stack chains. With the 4844 data blobs, the separation fee for execution and data makes more sense as L2 txs can benefit directly from the fee reductionReplying to @0xtaetaehoho @MetaMask and 2 othersBecause there is no widely adopted L2 gas fee standard, each L2 builds something slightly different and is a pain for, e.g. wallets. Breaking EVM is a big decision which is why, for now, Linea kept its pricing to the L1 spec and manages multi-dimensional fees under the hood
- great updates on the roadmap with more details! got to work hard to get rid of the training wheels for Scroll!Updated roadmap diagram!
- I'll share the Scroll's architecture design at the UETH this Sunday. Look forward to seeing you there!Introducing our next speaker, Haichen (@shenhaichen), co-founder of Scroll (@Scroll_ZKP)!🥳🥳 He will be sharing his insights on “Scroll Design and Architecture.” Meet him at #CHASECENTER on Aug 28th: go.ueth.org #UETH #UETH
- An old draft of zkEVM circuit architecture. This wasn't solely the work of @Scroll_ZKP. It's a testament to the collective insights from our open-source collaboration with @PrivacyScaling and many other contributors. 🤝Replying to @alexhevansTo give you a sense: Even in late 2021, we (like most reasonable people) didn’t believe a performant, bytecode-compatible zkEVM was possible In October of that year, @shenhaichen came by @BainCapCrypto and drew up an early version of the Scroll system with me and @angeris
- In 2023, we shipped the Scroll mainnet, an important milestone. We will continue the hardworking in 2024. A quick peek into 2024, we will - improve the UX - reduce the bridging gas cost - data compression and 4844 data blob to reduce tx cost - EIP-1559 tx type and SHA2562023 was the year of developer onboarding and community building 📜 As we open the door to 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on some of our greatest achievements at @Scroll_ZKP over the past year: 👇 👇
- Thanks for all the interest in our testnet. We are working hard to keep it up, even with Goerli gas at 500! 😂For nearly two years, we've built our zkEVM in the open alongside @privacyscaling and other contributors, and today, we're taking the next step to Goerli, the final stage before mainnet. Our testnet on Goerli is 100% permissionless. Here are the details:
