Congratulations to the new Regimental Sergeant Major of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards. WO1 Nigel Heron has taken on the role from WO1 Lee Paxton. As the Battalion welcomes Sergeant Major Heron into the role we say a huge thank you to WO1 Paxton for his time in post.

- Its been 40 years since the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards captured Mount Tumbledown. In commemoration of this, a wreath has been laid and LCpl Fraser played the 'Crags of Tumbledown' on that very mountain.

- Today we remember all those who fought, and in particular those we lost, during the Battle of Mount Tumbledown. In the latter stages of the Falklands War, 2nd Battalion Scots Guards made a daring night assault on Mt Tumbledown, its success allowed the recapture of Port Stanley.
00:00 - 1949 Battledress. The collar was allowed to be tailored to show shirt and tie. Previously, this was completely fastened. A Guards Major was quoted “I don’t mind dying for my country but I’m not going to die dressed like a third-rate chauffeur”.

- On this night, 38 years ago, the 2nd Bn Scots Guards feircly assaulted and secured Mnt Tumbledown in the Falklands War. It proved pivotal in the successful capture of Stanley. In support were the @WelshGuards , @Gurkha_Brigade , @RoyalMarines and many more.

- The Guards Parachute platoon, made up of soldiers from across the Guards and Household Cavalry, are currently deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, on Operation TORAL 7, providing security to enable advisers to help develop Afghanistan's public and military sectors. Merry Christmas!
- This is a picture of Lieutenant General Sir John Kiszely's compass which was struck by a bullet during the Battle of Mount Tumbledown in the Falklands War, potentially saving his life, he was awarded the Military Cross for his actions.

- It was an honour and a privilege to play a role in HM Queen Elizabeth II's funeral as it was to serve under her 70 year reign as Queen. The Scots Guards' contribution to the funeral allowed the Regiment to say our final 'Goodbye' and 'Thank You' to a monarch who gave us so much.
