- the queer ppl defending the homophobic artist are going to "at least they're polite/it's their religion" their way into getting their rights taken. newsflash: the tolerance you have for homophobes won't help you peacefully coexist! it only normalises and worsens the homophobia!

- just read the manga 'hana monogatari' (flower tales). a beautiful collection of mostly tragic young yuri and yuri-adjacent stories. adapted from short stories written by a lesbian feminist and shoujo pioneer in the 1910s.
- recently read a dark feminist baihe thriller. about a missing woman. the girlfriend of an actress, who is kidnapped and taken to a village of stolen brides. it's terrifyingly realistic. explores the worst of humanity who treat women as reproduction tools.

- suddenly remembered the japanese mini-drama with a transgender lesbian mc called 'life as a girl'. I watched it years ago so I don't know if it holds up. but at the time, it was revolutionary. exploring gender, transphobia, career, and relationships while being light-hearted.
