Two litters of wildcat kittens have been born in the Cairngorms 🎉
Following the release of 19 wildcats last summer, two females have successfully given birth in the wild, marking a huge milestone in our efforts to restore wildcats in Scotland ➡ savingwildcats.org.uk/kittensborninw…
A few months ago, we were surprised to find footage indicating that two of the female wildcats released in 2023 have each had a second litter of kittens 🐾
While not impossible, second litters in the same year are rare!
We are celebrating a HUGE SUCCESS today at the end of our very first breeding season at the centre!
In a quiet area away from visitors @HighlandWPark, we are thrilled to have welcomed a total of 22 wildcat kittens in six litters 😻
