BREAKING NEWS: After 15 hours of debate, the Minnesota Senate has passed the PRO Act, enshrining the right to abortion into state law. Next it heads to @GovTimWalz who said he will sign it. Minnesota is the first state to enact such legislation post-Roe. @MPRnews

There are about 500 Samoan people living in Minnesota. On Friday, 100 of them were cheering on Minnesota Lynx draft pick @alissa_pili. She is from Alaska, her family is Samoan and Iñupiaq, Native Alaskan. Faamati Winey told me Pili “gives her hope.”

In St Paul, “crisis pregnancy center” Birthright was vandalized. While abortion remains legal in Minnesota, CPC’s outnumber abortion health centers 13 to 1. No confirmation yet, but the vandalism was allegedly by pro-abortion group Janes Revenge. Story to come @MPRnews.

BREAKING: the Minnesota House has passed the trans refuge act. The bill now goes to Senate committees and if it passes, to @GovTimWalz who has said he will sign it. Minnesota would become the fourth refuge state.

Last week, Mpls made it illegal for protestors to block abortion clinics. In St. Paul, it’s still legal. A clinic escort told me he wants to see St. Paul adopt the same ordinance. “It would be nice to have that here and across the state so people can access care.” @MPRnews
