Do you want an engaging science presenter who can explain complex topics with warmth and humour? I'm currently looking for freelance opportunities to share my love of science, climate and nature. Get in touch if you think I can help tell your story.

Anyone who had their second Pfizer jab and DIDN'T get any side effects, please make yourselves known. I'm trying to convince my brain that I won't react to it at all.

PhD students suffer from anxiety and depression at rates that far exceed the general population. How about rather than looking for ways students can treat themselves, we look at the structural reasons why academia is destroying the mental health of so many PhD students?
Ph.D students suffer from anxiety and #depression at rates that far exceed the general population. A recent study suggests that mindfulness interventionsโ€”a form of exercise for the brainโ€”may help. @ScienceCareers fcld.ly/1wg7ya4

STRONG OPINION: There are very very few cases where log scales should be used in communicating data to the general public. This is not one of them.

Sexuality is different from most other minorities: you can be the only gay person in your entire family. Your parents likely don't know what it's like to be gay, can't teach you about gay history and gay issues first hand. That's why it's so important to teach it in schools.

This is your reminder that @TEDTalks, who charge thousands of dollars for a ticket, refuse to pay speakers at any TED or TEDx event. Ideas worth spreading are apparently not ideas worth paying for.

Watch this with sound. This is exactly how biologists are. "What is it? It looks so weird. Ooh, lets get closer. Wow it did a cool thing! Awesome!"
Big gulp! The Nautilus team spotted a gulper eel doing just that in @hawaiireef. That pouch-like mouth can inflate in an instant, scooping up much larger prey like a pelican! This gulper was likely a juvenile, as they can grow up to three feet in length. #NautilusinPMNM

Do you want Brexit? No. So you don't want Brexit? No. A slightly different Brexit? No. Time to think about it? No. Phone a friend? No.

For those outside the YouTube bubble, this is the equivalent of Harvey Weinstein writing a book in 4 years time about what it's like losing your job in Hollywood because you're a sexual predator. And people buying it.
tw// There's a YouTuber who has just written a book about being vilified on the internet because he was accused by thirteen women of sexual misconduct. He is currently trying to climb the Amazon charts because he has no shame. Please don't support him, tag him, etc. thanks
