    One year ago today, I was taken hostage by the Taliban. I was given no reason, blindfolded, and thrown in a basement cell for 105 days. I was tortured, given a death sentence, and kept under awful conditions. 🧵 1/3

    While I was in Taliban captivity I met many former ANDSF personnel that were also held hostage. They were being tortured and would disappear. We must hold Taliban accountable for their atrocities against the people of Afghanistan. @afghanevac @alexplitsas @HumanFirstAfg

    Girls crying because they are told they will have to leave university and will not be allowed back. This is painful to watch, education is a basic human right. Taliban have dehumanized women in Afghanistan.

    The Afghan Adjustment Act will provide protection for the Afghan allies who are already in the US. Without the AAA they will be in a limbo, and the possibility of deportation back to Afghanistan which is a death sentence. Please call your representative. @afghanevac
