- Replying to @emilynussbaumBut explaining *why* there were a lot of gay panic jokes in Friends doesn't mean they weren't homophobic. I was watching Friends earlier today—I love it!—but it always bums me out how high the gay-panic-jokes-per-episode rate is.

- Replying to @ryderkessler and @emilynussbaumAs a closeted 8-to-18-year-old watching, the laughing *at* gay panic nuance was lost on me—but the gay-is-scary content certainly wasn't. And Friends was a worse offender than the other sitcoms I watched then: Golden Girls, Murphy Brown, Seinfeld. It's a legitimate complaint.
- Just had a—very lovely!—Dan Goldman paid canvasser come to my door. I appreciate anyone doing the door-to-door hustle, but she did tell me she's getting $180 per day for four hours of work 😳 $45/hour is awesome, but how can candidates not giving themselves $4 million compete?
