Counter-strafing is easy to learn but difficult to master. It’s also a mechanic that most players take for granted in Valorant. Here are important insights (from a Radiant) to help understand counter-strafing + movement at a fundamental level (and to master it):

Peeking is a basic skill every Valorant player knows. But just because it’s "basic" doesn’t mean it’s easy to do perfectly, or even properly. Here are some key conditions, rules, and insights (from a Radiant) that can help you build the foundation to master Peeking.🧵

Most of the Valorant community believes that Game Sense is more important than Aim, and no one really questions it. But as a Radiant Coach, I don't agree. In fact, In most cases: Game Sense is for the Weak.

I recall debating Woohoojin about counter-strafing and the value of my movement guide, and he would slam me on how I'm providing sensationalized information without proper research and experience... and now I find out that he got exposed for being boosted to Radiant? crazy.

If a franchised org signs me as a content creator... I'll redo the Classic to Immortal series with their Classic skin exclusively. Thoughts?😆

    7. There are 4 ways to aim conventionally with respect to movement: Left move + Left aim, Right move + Right aim, Left move + Right aim, Right move + Left aim All 4 types are used in game, but not all 4 are trained equally. Resolve side weaknesses if you become aware of them.

My bad...? This feels like stating the obvious, but I did this for a challenge, not to commit to a classic-only as my whole brand. And wasn't everyone super impressed by your judge play when you first gained exposure? I think there is a very different dynamic here...

Almost in the top 1000 while solo queueing Sheriff only... I'm starting to think this is possible

I made a video that covers these concepts a bit more in-depth + it includes practices to build up your counter-strafe properly. Feel free to check it out! youtu.be/mnQoX4JKORU

    6. Movement is an opportunity to aim. This is why the Poppin Swing is actually fundamentally sound as a technique. If you AREN’T ready to shoot your enemy when you stop, then it’s better to keep moving until you ARE ready. Of course, don’t just keep moving for the hell of it.

    1. Movement affects your aim significantly. The way you peek and the way you move will directly affect how your aim needs to be adjusted to compensate. Bad movement can make great aimers look like bots. (if you’ve played Apex you know what I mean)
