On the 60th anniversary of the @Fender Stratocaster, Fender produce this cool poster with the famous players of the legendary guitar and their signature models. Rory and his signature model are both featured.
"A statue of Irish rock and blues legend Rory Gallagher has been unveiled at Belfast's Ulster Hall.
It is located outside the venue on Bedford Street where Gallagher played regularly throughout the Troubles in Northern Ireland."

Two new murals of Rory have been painted in Ireland this past week. The first in his birth town of Ballyshannon where artist Nik Purdy painted this iconic Heinrich Klaffs photo of Rory in the Bridgend area of the town.

#OTD in 1978, during his American tour, Rory found himself with a night off in New York, so he went to see Blondie, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels and Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers at the Palladium. Mick Rock took this shot backstage of Debbie Harry and Rory.
Rory playing Freddie King's 'Tore Down' on German TV show Beat Club on this day from 1972. There's a great live version of this song on the new BLUES album. Interesting to hear Rory's @Fender Strat through the Stramp Power Baby amp rather than the Vox AC30
