    Many months ago, I drank beer with my friend, in Munich, and asked if he thought there was any chance Trump would ask him to be his running mate. "Naw, man, I don't think about that," he said. Now he is going to be the next VPOTUS. God is good, and so is @JDVance

    Day 6 of Covid. Now my wife and kids have it too. All of us vaxxed; wife and I both boosted not long ago. Everybody we know who has omicron was vaxxed; most also boosted. So I gotta ask: what's the point of vaccine passports now? Security theater? Prepping social credit system?

    A guy friend who is a college professor (and a conservative, imagine that) says that he noticed a definite difference in the way most young men on his campus carried themselves day after the election. Something changed for them and in them, he said.

    A physician friend driving home tonight from a long, grueling day at nearly-overwhelmed hospital treating COVID19 patients, knowing it's going to get much worse for us all, saw lines of young people waiting to get in the bars in his city, writes, "I cannot believe the stupidity."

    Heard from several ppl this morning that their lib relatives are living in an entirely different epistemically universe. They sincerely believe MAGA shot Charlie & Jimmy Kimmel is the real martyr. I don’t see how we stop the unraveling.

    True story: My 11 year old daughter made a snow girl, using dead leaves for tears. Me: "Why is she crying?" Kid: "Because she knows she's going to die." I'm not reading any more Russian Christmas stories to my children.
