    These two paragraphs from @HuntingEnglish's 'Closing The Vocabulary Gap' are some of the best writing I've come across in any educational book. The chapter on disciplinary literacy should be the basis for whole-school discussions everywhere.

    My wife is from #Afghanistan and is in constant contact with friends & loved ones there. Teachers of girls are being threatened in their homes. Phones are being confiscated so nothing can be filmed. #Taliban rhetoric is not to be believed. @TomTugendhat #AfghanistanCrisis

    I’m revisiting this gem of a book. We overcomplicate classroom practice so much, but the simplicity and clarity of Rosenshine’s principles shows that we don’t need to. This really should be on every teacher training programme out there. @teacherhead @olicav @JohnCattEd

    Not proven? If the point of the ⁦@gtcs⁩ is to maintain the integrity and standards of the teaching profession in Scotland, then this is an abject failure. Homophobia has no place in the classroom.
