Four years ago, I first ran for City Council because I saw the ways our communities were too often ignored by people in power. Today, I’m proud to say I've stood by my promise to be a voice for the people and to organize alongside you. Donate today -> bit.ly/Robin4Mpls

BREAKING: Socialist Omar Fateh wins the Democratic endorsement over incumbent Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey

Take a deep breath Minneapolis. But remember no single verdict from an unjust system can deliver justice. Whatever happens, take care of yourself, because the long march to liberation continues.

We demand space to grieve. They show up in riot gear. We demand answers. They gas us. The only response they know is violence. If we want to build something better, we can not build it with an institution that knows nothing other than violence.
Test had deployed outside gas station.

Mayor Frey gives away the game here. Our mayor and his corporate backers are not worried about Uber and Lyft leaving, but what it might mean for Minneapolis to be a city where the rights of all working class people are protected, and what that would mean for the ruling class.

Like hundreds of Lyft users, I received an email today that they’re leaving Mpls on May 1st. What they fail to mention is that they’re choosing to “leave” because they simply do not want to pay their drivers, a largely Black & immigrant workforce, our minimum wage of $15/hr.
    Email from Lyft.

I am extremely disturbed by the news that the University of Minnesota will be complying with ICE immigration orders. Schools should be a protected space for students, and this is another unacceptable byproduct of the Trump Administration.

A conviction of Chauvin is not justice. It is not proof that the system works. If the system worked, George Floyd would be alive. And what has been done to change that system since his murder? 0 And they’ve brought in the National Guard to make sure it stays that way.

They don’t live in armored trucks. They can go Home. You know who can’t go home? The protestors you’re detaining. You know who else can’t go home? Daunte Wright and George Floyd. Because they were killed by MN police officers.
Let’s be clear: The brave men and women of the Minnesota National Guard are our neighbors. They’re teachers, health care workers, and business owners who live in communities across our state. This is unacceptable. They can’t “go home” — this is their home.

The footage of MPD officer Mark Hanneman shooting and killing Amir Locke has been released by the city. You do not have to watch the footage to know that there is still no justice for Black people in the city of Minneapolis.

Minneapolis has its first ever independent Black Democratic Socialist City Council member.
Tabulation is finished for Ward 2: Robin Wonsley Worlobah is elected. The next race to be announced is City Council Ward 5 vote.minneapolismn.gov/results-data/e…

There is no such thing as an officer-involved shooting. There is only murder.

George Floyd is not on trial. George Floyd Square is not on trial. George Floyd’s family is not on trial.

Deeply disappointed in my colleagues on council today. The choice to move forward with today’s rent control vote while three of our members, including the two bill authors, were out honoring Eid is a disservice to them and the people of Mpls, particularly our Muslim residents.
