- He donates 25 tickets to every Steelers home game for kids to be able to go games with @PghPolice. Now @Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey is giving $25,000 to to help police buy a trailer that can be used in community outreach efforts.

- Saddened to hear of the death of Joanne Rogers. She was a gracious, sweet, gregarious lady. This was taken as I interviewed her at McGee Hospital. Nurses made red sweaters for the babies. She joked, “It has been a long time since anyone got down on a knee for this old lady.”
- The Beta Theta Pi national fraternity reached a settlement with the family of Penn State pledge Timothy Piazza. Financial terms were not disclosed, but all 117 chapter houses will have to be alcohol and substance free by 2020. Piazza died in an alcohol related incident at PSU.

- There has been so much heavy news. Today a friend at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital shared this with me. Nurses in Boston sent food to the Emergency Department staff saying “Sending love and prayers. We stand with UPMC Presbyterian. Stay strong.”
- The names of the victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting will be released at a press conference this morning. We already have learned some of the names of the eight men and three women who were killed.

- One of my summer joys is walking 9 holes on Sunday evening. Tonight on the 8th hole at #PheasantRidge, I just made my first hole-in-one.
