I GOT THE DOMAIN! I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!1 🥳🎉 Paint.NET is now at paint.net! Well, it will be just as soon as I push all the buttons to migrate content and set up redirects from getpaint.net etc. For now it's just a "hey go here" redirect page.

There's a very ... special ... software out there installed on a lot of PCs. It's a system service called Nahimic and is used by software such as "A-Volute", which does something related to audio. It basically causes everything to crash. But there's a secret killswitch ...

Here's the story of a game I made in 1994, when I was 12, that somehow -- like some kind of lost, drunken cat -- finally found its way home on Christmas Eve after 25 years. THE GOLDEN FLUTE IV: THE FLUTE OF IMMORTALITY cc @Macaw45 and @textfiles

Every software developer makes mistakes, no developer can write 100% bug-free code. I'm going to share potentially the most embarrassing bug I've ever caused, which I just discovered in Paint.NET yesterday.

Yeah but ... huh? How'd you find or hear about it? I don't even have a copy, it got lost, I think I only ever sent out a physical copy to 1 person and never even uploaded it to the Internet. (IIRC) Even Google has nothing on it

Paint.NET v5.0 is on .NET 7! Total conversion time was about 5 minutes. Had some compile errors because WinForms added some new nullable annotations. Also I got a (non-spam) phone call in the middle of it all.

Success! Paint.NET's migration to .NET Core has made some big strides. ZIP (portable) and APPX packages are building, the shell extension (thumbnail provider) is working (native code that hosts .NET runtime!), and crossgen/ReadyToRun binaries just landed today too 😁

There's a lot going on with Paint.NET's development over the last few months -- this upcoming update has gotten quite big so I've rebranded v4.4 as v5.0! So, what's new for PDN v5.0?

Making progress on the .NET Core 5 port of Paint.NET 😎 It boots! Lots of little things are broken, mostly due to reflection and serialization.

Paint.NET on .NET 6! That wasn't so hard. Still have to get the update downloading to work, as WebRequest is deprecated now in favor of HttpClient with a completely different API, and packaging isn't figured out yet (crossgen is different), but this is encouraging!
