Being a 27-year-old professor is all fun and games until you show up to give a tour of your building to incoming majors, get mistaken as one of them, and get asked if you've signed up for fall classes yet. 😂

Get Beacon a ticket to Paris! 🫶
This is Beacon. He's a therapy dog and one of USA Gymnastics' busiest volunteers. He attended the Olympic Trials with a badge that literally says he's the "Goodest Boy." His job is to comfort athletes and coaches, giving them a belly to rub whenever they need it. 14/10
Beacon, a fluffy golden retriever, smiles as three young gymnasts in gray and red hoodies sit around him, each one of them has one arm outstretched to give him pets.
Suni Lee, a member of the 2024 U.S. women's gymnastics team, crouches next to Beacon the therapy dog, gently petting his neck, her hands lost in his long fur. both Suni and Beacon are looking over toward the camera and smiling.
Beacon's credential hangs among his majestic golden fur. it's themed red, white, and blue and reads, "U.S. gymnastics championships. Beacon Callahan Molnar, goodest boy, staff."

Really excited to have a new @nberpubs WP out this morning with Wenjia Cao, @emilycook_econ, @imbernomics, & Mike Lovenheim! We find that COVID-19 vaccine mandates by colleges & universities significantly reduced COVID spread & deaths last fall. (1/N) nber.org/papers/w30303

It’s small potatoes for some, but this Google Scholar email really made my day in the midst of a hectic week wrapping up the semester. ☺️

Our honors students presented like total pros this morning! With their explanations of DIDs, event studies, theory models, and more, you would never know they are all undergrads.

Grades submitted & done with teaching until January 2023! I love my students, but after two whirlwind, pandemic years starting out as an AP, I'm super glad that my university offers juniors a pre-tenure research leave. 🙌

Thrilled to have received my first grant and to have it supporting work with my old office pals @cody_orr and Salem Rogers! We're studying how increased funding to rural school districts affects student outcomes and can't wait to share what we learn. 🥳
Congratulations to @Miami_Econ professor @riacton who has received a @gatesfoundation grant to study funding impacts on rural school districts! ow.ly/LWPH50FWfNJ #MyFSB #BeyondReady #MiamiOH

First teaching day of the semester. Time to kick off year 5 (!?!?) with @Miami_Econ!

My hot take about cover letters on the econ job market is that they matter more than folks realize (esp. anywhere that's not an R1 econ department), BUT with some legwork upfront, you can customize them rather efficiently. How? Templates & good note-taking! (1/4)
