Delighted to be working with @kan_writersside @swatichopra1 @HarperCollinsIN on three books on varied topics over the next few years-going to be a tough grind but am really excited about the first one- a military biography.

I was approached by a prominent film maker to advise him on a script after Balakot. I told him to buzz off when I came to know he wanted to concentrate on the MiG-21 and Abhinandan only and I knew where it would head.

One of my favourite photographs of recent times from 2016. The IAF's entire fleet of C-17s at Leh after inducting elements of the Indian Army's mechanised and armoured formations. Jointmanship par excellence!

Brilliant rebuttal by a fellow officer, also a retired female helicopter pilot who served 15 years. I felt the same while watching the film. Terrible film. Dear Makers Of 'Gunjan Saxena', You Cannot Peddle Lies In The Name Of Creative Freedom outlookindia.com/website/story/…

2/2 An IAF Bison shot down an F-16 with a Close Combat missile the R-73 and during the pursuit crossed the LC and was brought down by ground fire. It was classic aerial action and of great significance that an F-16 was downed by an IAF Mig-21. IAF not perturbed at all-expected!

Blast from the past- post Sumdoring Chu negotiations at the border 1987 Angry PLA senior officer: If you do not mend your ways, we will use nuclear weapons ( more rhetoric I guess) Cool Indian Army Brigadier: Don’t forget the wind pattern-most of the radiation will head yourway😂

Came across this today : India’s army and air chiefs during either Camp Greenhorn/Rover at NDA. They are tagged in the photograph ( Gen Naravne with specs and ACM Bhaduria with his hand around the Sikh cadet. Enjoy😊

Why did 16 Bihar do what they did? For those who have not understood the ethos of the Indian Army at the unit level- it is Naam, Namak aur Nishan. Simple as that - no need to dissect more🤔

This is how a CO's bunker looked like in Kargil. For more read the chapters on Kargil in 'Full Spectrum' and the recently released 'A Military History of India since 1972.'
Col Chakravorty huddled in his improvised bunker -tough times demanded tough leadership from the front!

Dulat was always a shady character- even someone as solid as Gen Zaki told me that he was unreliable - I would go for Vikram Sood!
Two ex-spy chiefs, two opinions. Take your pick!
