Assassin's Creed Valhalla - 170 GB, hour+ long download on Steam at 120 Mbit/s With Via you are in game in <5 min with <5 gigs of data on disk. Ubisoft's Anvil engine tech seems pretty good to me, good loading code and no fps stutters due to streaming.

✅ Improved the other player updates and made them 10x smoother now, it works really well I do see why people say UDP (with WebRTC) is better than TCP (with WebSockets) now because once packages get stuck with TCP (like if your internet sucks) it becomes like a traffic jam and

There is an entire class of work commonly referred to as "systems engineering" which is very interesting, fun, and in high demand / pays well at lots of companies. Don't settle for slop.

for all of those that want to learn C try zig reasons 1. its build system is much better 2. it has testing built in 3. it will teach you everything that c will teach you other than a couple of base concepts that are not hard to learn without all the suck it really is awesome

Something I've noticed with LLM's is that they will tell you exactly what you want to hear. They pick up on slight biases in your questions and are RLHF'd to make you happy.

Minecraft with 16,000 block (1024 chunk) render distance, 8K, 60 fps. Don't see how the core dev team gets away from implementing LoD. Really hard to go back to 12 chunks or whatever after this. #DistantHorizons
