- According to court records, sentencing for U-M football player Mazi Smith has been delayed until Jan. 12. It had been set for Dec. 29, before U-M played in college football playoff. The new date is after the championship game. @freep @freepsports
- And like in all sports, the #NFL refs won't have to stand in front of the media, be shown the video of the players walking up to them to report and have to answer questions about what was going on there. And if the Lions players talk about it, they will get massive fines.

- PERSONAL NEWS: After 12 years at the @freep, I will be leaving at the end of the month. I've accepted a job covering college leadership for the Chroncile of Higher Education (@chronicle). I'm sad to leave the Free Press, but excited to travel the country digging into colleges.
