- Whereshetoldmetogo got hangry in deep stretch of G3 Gallant Bob at Parx Racing, tried to savage winner Firenze Fire after not being able to pass him. Give that horse a Snickers bar.
00:00 - Iโm not an expert on social influencers, but this young manโs actual involvement in horse ownership and letting his millions of followers better understand our game seems so much more meaningful than some of the other โinfluencersโ hired to promote racing events.Thank you all.. onto the next race ๐
00:00 - Sonny Leon's ride aboard Rich Strike in the #KentuckyDerby was brilliant, from his left-hand turn out of the gate from post 20, saving ground, veering around Messier.
- That was one crazy Kentucky Derby. Magical. One for the little guys and dreamers. In a game increasingly dominated by big money and super-sized stables, I'm going to savor this one. Congratulations to all the connections of Rich Strike.
- Agnes May Paulick: May 10, 1925-July 2, 2019. A beautiful life. Rest In Peace, Mom.
- Horse ambulance never made an afternoon run during the summer @DelMarRacing meet that ended today. Zero racing fatalities when the sport was under intense scrutiny. Team effort by horsemen, track management and @caCHRB to develop safety protocols that worked. Congratulations all.
- If nothing else, I hope today's Preakness result will get some leading owners thinking about giving good horses to someone other than top 5 trainers. There are so many outstanding horsemen who can get results if given the opportunity.
- Assiniboia asks provincial regulators to conduct a โfull and complete reviewโ of race 5 July 20, when King Witt finished second under jockey Sheldon Chickeness after having big lead at top of stretch.
00:00 - For those who donโt know how drug testing works in horse racing, numbered post-race samples arrive in labs without identification of the horse, trainer or race. For anyone to suggest labs are โpicking onโ certain trainers is ludicrous. It is impossible.
- Kentucky Derby first place finisher Medina Spirit suffered a sudden death after working five furlongs this morning at Santa Anita, Dr. Jeff Blea, @caCHRB equine medical director, has confirmed.
