Just been reminded how as kids, it was so natural for us to choose our class leaders. Almost always, we choose the most intelligent, most accomplished student among us. We never elected someone who was not good and active in school. Wonder what changed when we became adults?

Remember Mang Arnel, the Filipino fisherman who bravely took on 2 fast boats from the China Coast Guard but was chased away? He circled the huge CCG 3105 ship in an apparent show of protest right after the chase, his mother boat joining in and sailed close to the foreign vessel.

How hard is it really to admit that not everyone who needs help were able to get help? Why deny this fact? Patients died outside ER’s and in parking lots and even in their homes because they can’t be accommodated in hospitals. Why is it so hard to admit this fact?
