    Graciously, Sony has obtained a license for Oodle Texture for all PS4 and PS5 developers!! On PS4 or PS%, you can use Oodle Texture to convert Sony's GCN format!! And of course, it all works incredibly with the PS5's built-in hardware Kraken decoder.

    Thanks for all the nice wishes about Oodle Kraken in the PS5! It was a fun project and cool to see that the same things that make Kraken so fast in software translate well to hardware. Sony & AMD did amazing work - it's really nuts how much decompression power this box will have.

    We are huge fans of the M1 CPU here at RAD! If you are too, we need a MacOS generalist to come bang on Unreal on this platform. Gotta have a lot of C++ and Xcode experience, but this would be a good gig where you would really drive the whole platform. Email: [email protected]

    And Oodle Texture also works incredibly with other LZ compressors, so platforms with hardware ZLIB or other BCn wrapper formats will work great! We love all consoles at RAD and we expect developers to use Oodle Texture everywhere - it's that good.
