I obtained documents that show how Border Patrol is seeking access to parcels in three Texas Parks & Wildlife state parks (Big Bend Ranch, Seminole Canyon and Bentsen-RGV) for the first stages of border wall construction. @insideclimate
Dem candidate @BetoORourke greeted supporters before casting his primary ballot today in El Paso.
"Our volunteers and the voters of the state of Texas are going to be the answer to this voter suppression," he said.

Good morning! It's my first day as a Texas reporter at @insideclimate. I'm staying in El Paso and will be reporting on environmental and climate issues across the state.
The El Paso shooter said he was responding to a "Hispanic invasion." Three years later, the Texas GOP is calling on Abbott to declare an invasion on the border.
I reported on how these ideas impact El Paso and communities like it. (1)

If you haven’t heard… old wells keep exploding in the Permian Basin. There is no end in sight. I’m still wondering why we aren’t hearing from the @EPA or national environmental orgs about this.
New geyser today in West Texas - salty, oily water rushing about 100 feet in the air just west of Toyah, near the Davis Mountains. @egconley and I happened to be nearby houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-t…
In 1970, Josue "George" Garza was one of the only Mexican-American teachers at Robb ES. When admin denied him a new contract, 100s of students walked out, starting a decades-long struggle to desegregate Uvalde schools.

After taking the train from El Paso -> San Antonio I posted on Insta and now a bunch of my El Paso friends want to do it. (I have been preparing all my life to be an @Amtrak influencer.)
I have nothing to add the *the discourse* other than to say the coffee shop I go to in downtown El Paso is usually quiet but today it’s bustling with Border Patrol agents and reporters. The border industrial complex is booming.
From the air, it’s easy to see that El Paso and Juárez are one community, cleaved in half by the border. (And that the channelized, militarized Rio Grande is in bad shape).
There is no electricity, people are probably running out of food and supplies... yet we're still calling them looters? I thought the media learned this lesson after Katrina. (This is from WashPo).
A Mexican gray wolf named Mr. Goodbar paced along the border wall in New Mexico last month before turning back. I wrote in @elpasotimes how border wall construction impacts the wolf’s ongoing recovery.
