- Replying to @protectedbylisaHow she left my chair (cause what made y’all think we didn’t do a cut? Lol) Just wanted to show the after effects of back to back protective styling without taking breaks to care for your hair. Take the breaks before the next install.
- Keeping your hair braided all the time - getting box braids or Knotless braids every 2-3 months - does not grow your hair.
- Replying to @VidaSterLinG and @c0kahinaYour hair grows because of growth phases. These occur just like we shed skin. Part of it is the hair being dry in these styles (since you can’t fully wash it) & rubbing against the synthetic hair (lifting the cuticle making it easier to damage) is probably what you’re noticing

- Replying to @protectedbylisaI’m not about to act like I don’t see things like this in salon. This is what causes me to say things like take a break between your styles before your hair gets to this point. Cause I give a damn when I see this & I don’t want others to experience it if they can prevent it
- That’s the whole point, protective styles themselves aren’t bad. It’s the not taking a break that causes issues.
- Replying to @protectedbylisaFor those who want more clarity. I’m referring to protective styles (with extension hair) without breaks between the installs & no haircuts/care over 1-2 years. This didn’t happen overnight or as soon as she got a few installs. This was gradual damage over time.
- Please stop using olaplex if you do not have colored hair. You really do not need it at all. This is just a reminder cause I’ve said something about this in the past.
- When it comes to styling your hair a common thing I’ve seen is naturals using creams and leave-in’s as a styler. Unfortunately those products don’t have much hold & that is why you have to keep “refreshing” & retwisting your hair throughout the week. Let me put you on, a 🧵
- Cowash is not shampoo. It does not replace shampoo. It’s like washing your body with lotion.
