This post took a couple turns I did not see coming. 😂

Send every American a kit right now. Everyone who tests positive, stay at home unless you need hospital. Those positives, keep sending kits until two negatives. Best $2-3B the country will ever spend.
Abbott launches $5 coronavirus test that yields results in 15 minutes, without needing any laboratory equipment. Amazing.

To put this into perspective, per sq ft revenue: Starbucks: $775 McDonald’s: $143 Subway: $140 Apple store: $5,560 Moral: sell phones, not burgers :-). Also note that McDonalds value is significantly tied up in the real estate footprint of their stores.

    1. Don’t take yourself too seriously. 2. Find great mentors and let them be involved in your career. Form great relationships with them. 3. Listen to and observe true leaders. You don’t need to emulate them; borrow bits and pieces from them and form your own style.

Sad that my mind immediately went to PowerPoint presentation use case.

I think one of the more under appreciated byproducts if the @Raptors winning the title was the world learning about @superfan_nav. What an amazing gem for that area.
Proud day. Donated $150,000 to @citymississauga to build 4 courts in #malton . Thank you to all those that bought items from the website and the companies that ive made appearances for or endorsements with. All my fees I donated to the foundation and now it's time to give back.

The Ponzi scheme take is such a saber rattler. SS worked really well when the life expectancy was 3-5 years above 65. It’s now 78-80. The answer is to grandfather people in and then raise the age for others.
The Social Security board estimates they will run out of funds by 2034. More than 2 out of every 5 Americans under the age of 50 believes Social Security is a ponzi scheme. Today I unpack the problem and the decades-old ideas on how to solve it. pomp.substack.com/p/social-secur…

Don’t worry, they’ll tell you within the first 3 min of meeting them. 😂
If you’re not from India and you ever meet someone from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) who studied Computer Science, know that they took an examination that ~1,000,000 students spent 4 years preparing for and were (likely) in the top 300. They’re geniuses.

Whenever I fly a 737 max, it always crosses my mind that after the…checks notes…CRASHES and grounding, there was so little reporting on them coming back into circulation. Like how do we know everything was fixed?

Awesome read. Using ML/AI to develop Biomarkers from such a complex dataset is similar to allowing bio (via directed evolution, for ex) identify mutations that no human intervention would’ve captured. In a way, ML/AI can further speed up “evolution” to get to a valuable endpoint
Biology is riddled with technical debt. What does this mean for how we can wrap our minds around its complexity and break through? Some of my thoughts for how this impacts the goals of Engineering Biology. @a16z a16z.com/2018/01/07/bio…

Someone point out how bad teams picking that high have actually “found” their franchise qb that actually wins games versus the orgs that build a solid team and foundation and insert a high round QB? Other than Burrow, who else? And then list the busts. QB drafting is an annual

So it’s just like the Bay Area. Except literally the complete opposite.

Public service reminder: the patient sits outside of HIPAA. In fact, patients can plaster their health data on a billboard if they choose. It’s their data. It’s their right. Physicians and their staff should learn the law. These are real lives being impacted. #myhealthmydata
Just had a doctor's office tell me the doctor couldn't discuss test results over the phone because of HIPAA. This is false, and another reminder that medical facilities constantly use HIPAA as a bogus excuse for being opaque and difficult.
