My prayers for Danny Farquar include a personal reminder, especially for his family:I suffered a similar aneurysm 12 years ago this June. You can and will be back to a normal life. I promise.

This Gerrit Cole:When he struck out his 1st hitter working w/ Kyle Higashioka catching, he called Kyle to the mound, said "we're going to keep the ball and sign it to David Keith." He was the scout who drafted each. In a hard time, rooting for Cole is easy.

Mookie Betts and Mike Trout have been 2-1, 1-2 in AL MVP voting in 2018 and 2016. Betts took food to homeless in Copley Square at 2 am following a playoff win. Trout hasn't gone to 1B slower than 4.1 in years. After 50 years covering the game, they define why I love it.
