    I've never believed in long goodbyes or farewell tours, but I do want to thank all of you that have made my past 31 years at The Cap-Journal a pure joy. I'm excited about my future in local sports (more news to come), but today is about saying goodbye to an old, cherished friend.

    Topeka High football has been ordered to forfeit all eight of its 2017 victories by the @KSHSAA executive board for the use of an ineligible player. The executive board made that decision after a Wednesday hearing that lasted 5 hours, 40 minutes.

    A breakout day for former @T_HighAthletics superstar @Ky_Thomas in @gopherfootball1's 30-0 road win at Colorado. Thomas carries the ball 7 times for 66 yards (9.4 yards per carry) and scores his first college TD on a 14-yard run. He also had a 24-yard run.
