- I've been going to Peter Luger in Brooklyn since the 90s and I've got a few things to say about it.
- Floyd Cardoz was an exceptional talent, a chef equally at home with undiluted Indian flavors as he was with the delicious union of French, Indian and American food, a personal idiom that he invented.
- If you hire a critic to write a piece of criticism, and the criticism is good and fair, and the subject doesn't like it, you do not soften the copy. You do not pull the piece, either. You promote the hell out of it and ask the critic what he'd like to write next.
- Wegman’s today was running low on beans. It was however well stocked with wild boar roasts, baby back ribs, smoked salmon, fresh rabbit, andouille and D’Artagnan foie gras. To repeat: some of you people couldn’t panic shop to save your lives.
- Somebody, somewhere is just learning about Justin Townes Earle tonight, and that person is going to look up his songs, and those songs will become part of that person's life.
