Hello Everyone,
I'm here to clean up your manuscript. I offer line, structural, and developmental edits. Of course, your short story, novel, poem is in good hands. Send a message. ✌️
For you who writes, thinks about writing, not sure about writing, wishes they're not writing, feels trashy about writing, craves acceptance, just submitted, slapped with rejections, hides their writing, scared of feedback -
Happy International Writers' Day.
You don't ask God to teach you how to write. Or make you write. You write. Each draft, a request. It is nakedness. It is death. To write is to pray. To pray is to rewrite until the story says, 'Okay, I'm fully formed.' Therein lies an answered prayer.
Write even when you are not winning. Intimacy with your craft is your first win, and the only win. If there's any other win, it's merely a footnote of your love affair with your work.
Dear Writer,
Clean your space, scatter it, make the call, apply to that program, check your mail, celebrate your wins, laugh at your failures, attend to your body, drink some audacity,
Sincerely,
Me.
If you are struggling with writing fiction, read some poems. And essays too. They give access to language and it varieties. Poetry especially, gives impetus for the creation of new language/expression.
If you struggle to write: Write, "I am struggling to write." That's a sentence already. What should be the next? Maybe: "I don't know how to proceed." That's another sentence. You are writing. Let it lead you to wherever your struggle is.
Write what matters to you. That's prior. Nobody writes in a vacuum. Stories are never too old. Don't worry about the what's popular. Write yours. You're a creator. Write in your own voice. Be original. Be fresh.
