- Paul Givan repostedViolence and disorder is wrong and it is counterproductive. It serves no purpose other than the destruction of neighbourhoods and to turn the focus away from where it should be. Many of us have spoken out before to highlight the issues of concern and we will continue to do so.
- We must protect children, safeguard victims and ensure every school is a safe place to learn and work. I will outline in the Assembly why the proposed changes are damaging and should be opposed. Raising the age of criminal responsibility undermines these efforts.

- Paul Givan repostedMy party has tabled a Petition of Concern on this, we have all signed it. If UUP leader believes what he states that ‘it is dangerous & denies victims justice” then UUP will sign Petition of Concern, they’ve failed to do so when asked. It’s not too late, I ask Jon & UUP to signIt’s hard to believe politicians are even contemplating this. Hopefully the voice of reason will prevail.

- Paul Givan repostedThe Sinn Fein approach would bring about chaos. Sinn Fein Ministers did not oppose this issue at the NI Executive. They are now playing politics with child safeguarding. Similar legislation already exists in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. @paulgivan
00:00 - Paul Givan repostedWhat Sinn Fein are not telling you is there is no way to ensure *safeguarding* arrangements in a school without mandatory inspection as per the NI Audit Office report (enclosed). This SF stance is playing politics with children’s safety and is actually appalling.
- Paul Givan repostedThis is extraordinary; SF support Paul's Bill Table it in the Executive Pass it And now condemn it - because of their own pressures. Dont be fooled. The role of inspection is vital for school improvement & ensuring effective child protection measures are in place. School inspections exist in England, Scotland, Wales and Republic of Ireland. SF FM put it on the Executive agenda and it was approved to proceed with NO dissent.
