the obsession w “ending anonymity on social media” is an expression of elite anxieties about being spoken back to by the masses & it reminds me of elite anxieties in the Victorian age around an increase in literacy & in the 15th century around the invention of the printing press

June 2nd is the day sex workers remember the prostitute occupations of churches in France, in 1975. The occupation is widely seen as kickstarting the modern SW rights movt in Europe. Sex workers occupied churches to protest police violence, soliciting fines, & poverty.

Absolutely delighted that UNISON, one of Britain’s biggest trade unions, has just voted at their conference to end their support for the Nordic model and instead support sex worker safety, decriminalisation and trade union organising ✊

The thing where someone ‘costs’ a recipe by going like, 1/10th of a bag of flour, 6p, pinch of salt, <1p, pinch of pepper, <1p, makes no sense and never has. That’s not how grocery shopping works!

RT 🔒 rly good news. mumsnet raised 80 grand to take this test case to court, to claim having “gender critical” views was protected as a philosophical belief under the EA. they FAILED, & we now have established case law that being a transphobe is sackable. which they paid for 😌
It’s confirmed - Maya Forstater has LOST her legal case against her former employer after she tried to sue them for not renewing her contract after making transphobic public statements online! ⤵️ crowdjustice.com/case/lost-job-…

as I’ve just seen someone point out on a locked account, teachers who *have ever done sex work* have to hide it FOREVER else they’ll lose their jobs, and yet this man murdered a sex worker and gets to be feted at a conference about his ✨inspirational✨ story????
This guy killed a #Vancouver #sexworker in 2007 and he gets invited to a fucking conference? Not under my watch!
