hi. we missed the way people used to talk about books.
so we made a place for it.
welcome to Pagebound...we’re like if Goodreads & Reddit had a baby, but it's
🌱 indie
🧃 anti-AI
🧙 & built by women who read to escape and post to connect
You can now mute books in your home feed! There’s also a new “owned” toggle, “interested” reading status for those with overwhelming TBRs, and a section on Discuss to view book status updates from your followers! update your app to see these new features 😉
we ignored all the rules of social media to create our social reading tracker:
- no timestamps on posts/comments—discussions about books are timeless
- no algo, so clout and drama don't win by default
- no AI; we're 100% human
New feature 🎉 Track your reading progress (app update required): you can now track page or % read without making a post to the book forum. Your progress is saved for stats (coming soon!) & gets sent to your followers. Add a comment to the progress update from your profile!
hii we’re the women behind this upstart book app taking on Goodreads (owned by Amazon, bleh) & yes you know we’re indie and humans because we literally turned our pets into avatars you can choose when you create your pagebound profile 😂
Hi! there’s actually no source of truth for genre data surprisingly. Most sites use shelf names as proxy. That’s how Goodreads (& others) end up with long, sometimes conflicting lists of genres. We’re opting for genre info curated by volunteer librarians, so it takes a bit longer
🚨🎉Pagebound is available on Android! Search Pagebound in the Google Play Store to download.
Still waiting for Apple approval for iOS. We are available in 68 countries & waiting for Canada approval soon. #booktwt
🚨🚨🚨🥳 The Pagebound app is now available on iOS and Android. Search Pagebound (or Pagebound: Social Book Tracker) or click the link in bio to download. We are available in 70 countries! #booktwt
We’ve submitted for app store approvals! And we’ve rolled out our rebrand to web!
Since our app & website design are sisters, not twins, this new logo ties both together. Shout out to illustrator Mariam Chagelishvili for bringing our new 3D PB icon to life!
🚨100 more spots for early access to the app (while it’s in beta)
We have 50 for iOS & 50 for Android. To enter, 1. follow us here 2. comment your Pagebound username + if you’re iOS or Android 3. pinky promise that when the app is released (in the future), you’ll write a review!
We don’t have a monthly reading recap feature :) we will in the future once we roll out Stats, but our focus is on social reading so we started by created differentiated features that don’t exist elsewhere! (on Pagebound, every book has its own forum to discuss books as you read)
How to always have an answer for “what did you think of that book?” #booktwt
Pagebound keeps track of your Book Journey: from when you started reading to all of the posts & comments you made in the book forum, your progress updates, and your review.
