    EMERGENCY UPDATE: Due to the severity of the electric generation shortfall, our expected outage length of 15 to 45 minutes has been significantly extended. Outages due to this electric emergency could last for hours & we ask you to be prepared. (1/3)

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: Yesterday, @ERCOT_ISO directed Oncor and other utilities to begin restoring power previously dropped from the electric grid. As a result of the increased generation and stable demand, Oncor has since been able to cease controlled, or rotating, outages.

    EMERGENCY UPDATE —There are 2 major issues affecting many customers right now: winter storm outages & controlled power outages directed by @ERCOT_ISO. We’re doing everything possible to respond to each power emergency event. Customers don’t need to report outages at this time.

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: Additionally, our crews continue to restore equipment damaged by the significant winter storm so those homes & businesses can receive power ASAP. Crews, including mutual assistance contractors from out of state, have been relocated to areas of highest need.

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: At the request of @ERCOT_ISO, Oncor & TX utilities have begun rotating electric outages to protect the electric grid. These typically last 15-45min, but may vary depending on winter weather and grid conditions. Please continue to conserve energy where able.

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: @ERCOT_ISO, agency that manages the TX electric grid, reports extreme weather conditions caused many generating units across fuel types to trip offline & be unavailable. Rotating outages likely to last thru the AM &could be in effect until weather emergency ends

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: The TX power system is currently facing an unprecedented shortfall of electric generation. @ERCOT_ISO has requested Oncor & utilities across TX to implement controlled power outages to reduce high demand & protect the integrity of the electric grid. (1/3)

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: At this time, @ERCOT_ISO is unable to predict when grid conditions will stabilize. All customers are urged to be prepared for cont' extended outages. Please also prioritize safety. Warming stations are available in many areas- check online or call 211 for more.

    EMERGENCY UPDATE: Rotating outages remain in effect at the direction of @ERCOT_ISO because the supply of electricity is lower than demand. It is possible to experience multiple outage rotations. We recognize how unsettling these outages can be and strive to minimize impacts.

    As of 5 a.m. approx. 30K customers are w/o power. A majority of outages – ~24k – are in the Dallas metro area & adjacent N & NE counties. The storm has also greatly impacted the N & W regions of our service area, w/ approx 5k outages near the Red River & 1K in the Permian Basin.
