    A little skeptical that someone with straight A’s and 1450 SAT couldn’t get a spot at Merced. Also are people not aware that college admissions are way more competitive now? Also how long has this kid been waiting for admissions results? It’s been a whole calendar year.

    This is a far better way to understand NIMBYs than the “anti-property rights” characterization that the libertarians in the pro-housing coalition have adopted. NIMBYs view the land use regs themselves as a property right. They more or less say so at every public meeting.

    i was a huge Buttigieg supporter and am grateful for his historic campaign. Bernie was my second choice but this makes me want to support a more unifying candidate like Biden instead.
