Beyond stoked to find this aerial photo of Salt Lake from 1928

Shocked to see how much wider BRT construction has made Harrison in Ogden. (You now have to cross the equivalent of 10 lanes of traffic!) If you’re improving transit while simultaneously making walkability worse you’re shooting yourself in the foot
new aerial photo of a widened Harrison Blvd and 36th St in Ogden. the project to add BRT lanes to Harrison also added dual left turn lanes that weren’t there before
old aerial of Harrison—you had to cross the equivalent of 6–7 lanes before

Imagine if 4th South looked like this
How lovely is this? This #tram in Barcelona fits naturally into its surroundings, is sleek, silent, reliable and comfortable. On the right is a park, ahead is a university and to the left are cafés and housing. Everything interacts harmoniously. #publictransit

Your regular reminder that the way Utahns pronounce “mountain” and “Layton” is the same as almost everywhere else in the United States

For reals tho. A 24-hour pharmacy. Zoom in on that last photo and see all the people on the street on a summer night in 1942. Salt Lake was a more urban city back in the day than it is today.

Very sad we decided to simply obliterate the hills north of downtown for resource extraction

Salt Lake City, 1978. Hollowed out by three decades of urban renewal.

Was stopped in my tracks this evening when I came across this view. Just stood and watched for a few minutes. How are we so lucky to live here?
