- Crews from Long Island ventured upstate to help with the Lake Effect snow removal efforts. These shots from Erie County don’t do justice with what plow operators are experiencing. #DontCrowdThePlow #OneDOT
- And during today's ceremony in #Malverne, @NYSDOT crews unveiled the new signs dedicating part of #SouthernStateParkway in memory of #NYPD Det. Steven McDonald.
00:00 - Behind the scenes of @NYSDOT Comm. @MarieThereseNY during @GovKathyHochul’s late morning briefing. Plows are out in full force across Long Island clearing snow & ice while treating pavement to make the roads safe & passable.
- Our plows will remain out there throughout the night clearing all 4000+ lane miles on Long Island’s state roads. Here’s another glimpse of what we’ve been doing all day. Stay safe & stay home. #DontCrowdThePlow #LIwx #NYwx #blizzard2022 #noreaster2022
00:00 - Long Island's @NYSDOT workers marking #GoOrangeDay to raise awareness for #WorkZoneSafety. When you see orange cones, slow down and #MoveOver to give highway workers space to work. #drivelikeyouworkhere
- NYSDOT has LI covered: a tow plow clears a ramp on NY27 in Suffolk Co; a plow truck clears NY24 in Nassau Co; crews reload in Babylon.
- It’s been a busy day of clearing Long Island’s state roads, like on NYS Routes 25, 25A, & 110 in @HuntingtonGov. As the snow tapers, our work continues. The spreaders on the plow trucks are working hard, so stay back at least 4 car lengths. #DontCrowdThePlow #LIwx #NYwx
00:00 - When you stay home, you're saving lives. Help stop the spread of Coronavirus.
- Today we’re wearing #OrangeForSafety as part of #WorkZoneAwarenessWeek to recognize our dedicated highway workers. 🦺 As construction season kicks off, practice #WorkZoneSafety & remember to #PayAttention, #SlowDown, & #MoveOver. It’s for everyone’s safety!
- 4:30pm Saturday: Eastbound Sunrise Highway NY27 and South Service Road are closed between Exit 58 (William Floyd Parkway/CR46) and Exit 63 (Old Riverhead Road/CR31) due to brush fires. Please avoid driving in the area to allow for emergency vehicles and for everyone’s safety.
- Hey @NYSDOTBuffalo...these folks are on the way up to South Erie help with snow removal. They want some wings when they arrive 😜 jk. #OneDOT #DontCrowdThePlow
- Meet Cody. Last week during #Elsa, our crews were clearing drainage grates when they spotted him in the median of #SouthernStateParkway. With the help of @nyspolice & a passerby, he was rescued. We gave Cody some water & PPE at our yard before he was reunited with his owner.❤️❤️
