- Friday 6/12 540pm: Showers + storms will roll through parts of the region tonight, mainly across areas north of I-90. While we don't expect severe storms, there will still be a risk for lightning for those out enjoying the nicer air conditions. Head indoors if you hear thunder.
00:00 - We've finally said goodbye to the oppressive humidity of the last week or so and with plenty of sunshine expected today, get out there and enjoy what looks to be a beautiful Friday. Some shower and storm chances return for tomorrow but we dry out again for Sunday
- Showers and thunderstorms may return to areas north of I-90 Friday night and to areas along and south of I-90 Saturday afternoon and evening. That said, overall humidity will be trending downward over the next 3 days and highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s are favored for Sunday.
- Through 4 pm, there will be periodic showers and storms. In parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, wind gusts could be as high as 40 mph and heavy rain may cause localized flooding.
- A special weather statement has been issued for Onalaska WI, Platteville WI and Sparta WI until 12:30 PM CDT
- Severe Thunderstorm Warning including Viroqua WI, Westby WI and Cashton WI until 12:00 PM CDT
- Severe Thunderstorm Warning including La Crosse WI, Onalaska WI and Holmen WI until 12:00 PM CDT
- Morning round of showers and storms will continue to move through the region with some damaging wind potential in parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. These storms may impact the storms this afternoon.
- Through 11 am, lines of storms tracking east and northeast. Some of these storms could be strong to severe in northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. Wind gusts to 50 to 70 mph. Heavy rainfall could lead to localized, street flooding.
- Through 9 am, a thunderstorm complex will move into southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa from central Iowa. These storms will be capable of producing wind gusts to 30 mph and heavy rain. There may be localized street flooding.
- Another day, another chance for both severe weather AND heavy rain. Rain and storms this morning will complicate the severe potential this afternoon but it still looks like NE Iowa and SW Wisconsin will be the best bets across the Driftless Region ⛈️
