this panel is very symbolic to me, because the enitre world's evil was truly after sasuke, orochimaru after his body, itachi coming to torture him, konoha having genocided his people, evil was grasping at sasuke from all directions, and all sakura could do was hold him, powerless

one of my favorite things about sasuke is how he is ultimately, always motivated by love and justice, even when he tries to sever and forget his bonds, in the end, whether it be for his family, itachi or team 7, all his actions are rooted in a deep love

the notion that sasuke only got with sakura out of "pity" is funny, because he's the only man in her life who was never intimidated or put off by her strength, rather admired it, he never considered her pitiful, he always saw her strength and he was always proud of it
