- we need slang for ‘normal and boring’, how about vanilla—a flavor so beautiful, expensive, and rare it’s worth manually pollinating with tiny toothpicks and hand-scraping it from exotic tropical orchids
- elon casually revolutionizes space travel, neural interfaces, and tunneling in the same monotone 'yeah idk we just figured it out' energy, then spends a week losing his absolute mind over Grok Imagine generating five second dalle 2 slop
- i hate how well asking myself "if i had 10x the agency i have what would i do" works
- I’ve gotten am embarrassing amount of leverage out of “I’m afraid. I guess I’ll just do it while afraid” and “this is going to take a long time, but the time is going to pass anyway”
- the most valuable thing ive gotten from money is the removal of stress from minor waste. miss a flight or train no worries book another, food even borderline possibly bad throw it out get some more, over the year total added cost is small but removal of that type of stress is big
- i've asked a couple docs "if cadio helps your heart shouldn't amphetamines/stimulants also help your heart?" and have gotten answers that reminded me of CDC's "masks don't work". like i've asked a forbidden q does anyone have better answers to why they are/aren't like cardio
- most people i know gain like 20 iq when advising their friends lives and lose 20 iq when doing strategy for their own lives
- Replying to @sashachapinbasically all the happiest people I know spend like 50% of their life wandering around
- humans are animals that look for humans with low fascial tension and try to give them what they want. low fascial tension might be the closest thing we have to a skeleton key to the world
- I never realized how much your default vibe of open or closed changes things. get stuck on “open” and life turns into perpetual small‑talk mode: every coffee order becomes a conversation, every Uber, changing in the locker room, walking down street people stop you to say hi
- the ceiling of how good life can be is so much higher than I was told was possible
- Most of the successful founders I know are fueled essentially by romantic rejections they had in their early teens. I think our economy might largely be running on the disgust response of 15yo girls
