    Implementing an anti racist approach can be a struggle. We might know what that term means, but I have found that not many of us know what that looks like in practice. So, I got to work and created a workbook for all of us. Yep, a whole book. multiculturalclassroomconsulting.com/the-anti-racis…

    Teaching about racism is one thing. Teaching culturally relevant content is something else. Teaching with an anti racist lens is yet another thing. All of that is different from teaching critical race theory.

    My Abuelo is resting in peace now. He lost the battle against COVID today. He died on my grandma’s bday. He fought till the very end. He was a science teacher and activist against Trujillo in DR. Please take this virus seriously.

    It's funny how as adults we act the same way our students do when we are frustrated or need to disconnect. It's the very behaviors we condemn in our classrooms that we display during PD or staff meetings. It was wild to watch.

    I’ve now joined some of my fellow educators as yet another teacher that has resigned. COVID is #1, but it’s not alone on the list of reasons why. The saddest part is not being able to say goodbye to my students. This is the worst. I’m okay. I’ll be okay. But this sucks.

    I know it's funny to make jokes about what's going on in Texas. I get it. I'm from Massachusetts. Here's the thing: it's not simply that it's cold. It's not simply that there's some snow. You're talking about a region that is usually concerned about desert heat. #texaswinterstorm

    I’m joining the educators who have now had to sit through active shooter training drills as part of their pd. I have to learn how to protect myself and children from a mass shooter as PART OF MY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. Let that sink in. No. I’m not okay.
