Just in: After some significant brand confusion around HBO Max and all the other HBO apps, WarnerMedia is officially "sunsetting" HBO Go and will rebrand HBO Now as, simply, HBO.

I chatted with Disney's Kevin Mayer about the Fox deal and the Disney+ streaming service. Some takeaways: Those Marvel shows that Netflix canceled? There's a "possibility" that Disney+ could revive them. Taking Hulu international? "We're talking to Hulu about that now."

Netflix says its subscriber miss occurred across all regions, but slightly more in areas where its price increase went into effect. The company says competition wasn't a factor. Instead, its original programming failed to drive growth.

Little Wednesday morning scoop: Another top streamer is leaving Twitch for YouTube. @timthetatman tells me that YouTube is "hungry" and that he was attracted to how the team there works with gamers to make their platform better.

Hi, some news...This spring, I got laid off from a job I really enjoyed at Vanity Fair while I was 8 months pregnant. After taking time with my family this summer, I'm starting to think about what's next. Please keep me in mind for freelance & full-time journalism opportunities.
